    • Humanitarian Water

Humanitarian Water (03;20) this is a short video about the water that is placed at the US/Mexican border to help immigrants survive the summer heat of the Calexico and Ocotillo deserts. It talks about how more people have died crossing the US Mexican Border in one year than have those who tried crossing the Berlin Wall the entire time it was up. In the end a border agent stops the filmmaker and scares her into leaving the “high-traffic” area.

    • Juarez Mothers Fight Femicide

Juarez Mothers Fight Femicide (09;00) is about the mothers of the “Women of Juarez”. The video does not try to pound you over the head with more information. It basically looks at the opinions of the mothers in regards to what was the final story with each case. Interviewed are mothers from all social strata but this film points out that the pain is equal and all valid emotions. The fact that the “women are poor” is pointed out by Marisela Ortiz from Nuestras Hijas de Regreso a Casa as a reaso...

    • Border Scarecrows

I saw these scarcrows off the 98 Highway south of the 8 freeway in Southern California very near the border. They were placed in an underpass at the height of the minuteman movement. These were either placed there by anti-immigrant groups or by the United States Border Patrol. I'm not too sure but I felt they looked like sculptures that were installed in the desert sand to scare undocumented people running though the border.

    • What is a Chicana Feliz?

This was a contest I entered that asked me to ask a question or something. I was living in Arlington at the time and is one of my most embarrasing videos, nevertheless, pretty well produced for the budget and time constraints. Not to mention, you can hear my voice and see my face.

    • "Turnstyle" an Interactive Installation

Turnstyle is the video documentation to my interactive installation, which is a life size revolving door that represents the US/Mexican Border. Basically when you walk into the door and turn it in one direction it plays a “US Video,” when you turn it in another direction it plays the “Mexican Video.” It is a satirical art piece as well as a serious look at how the border really ends up playing out. The user tends to just get dizzy from the experience and only can I pass or not pass is learned.
