Senator Joe Lieberman (who is Jewish and is currently angling to be Republican Senator John McCain’s 2008 vice-presidential running mate) is seen in this appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press defending his willingness to have a dialogue with the “anti-Semitic” Nation of Islam leader, Minister Louis Farrakhan (during Lieberman’s campaign as the 2000 vice-presidential running mate for the Democrat Al Gore), on the grounds that “one should be willing to speak with those with whom one disagrees”. This comes on the heels of the revelation that Governor Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania (who is also Jewish and is the leading Hillary Clinton supporter and her possible 2008 vice-presidential running mate), had invited the same Minister Farrakhan to Philadelphia in 1997 (where Rendell was then serving as mayor of the city) and had not only shared a speaking platform with the NOI leader but had heaped fulsome praise on Farrakhan’s organisation for its communal works. This sorry saga was set in motion when the obnoxious host of the aforementioned Meet the Press news show, one Timothy John Russert, Jr. ~ during a 26 February televised debate between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton over which he presided ~ harangued Obama for the unsolicited praise which he had received from Minister Farrakhan for his “messianic” presidential bid. The irony of this whole affair is that in 1998, Russert had himself been sharply rebuked by the Jewish Anti-defamation League (ADL) for his having invited Minister Farrakhan to appear on Meet the Press on no less than four separate occasions and for his having accorded Minister Farrakhan what the ADL deemed to have been Russert’s needlessly congenial, (relatively) respectful and uncritical treatment of the NOI leader during those interviews. How does one begin to comprehend the utterly absurd and tragi-comic spectacle of a Black American presidential contender like Obama being compelled by the white host of a top-rated TV news show to denounce unsolicited words of praise heaped upon him by a Black Muslim minister with whom he has no ties of any kind whatsoever and whose own cosy treatment by that same white host during several appearances on the aforementioned news show had earned that host the opprobrium of a leading Jewish organisation which ~ having also rebuked that Black presidential candidate for the unsought-for praise which he had received from the aforementioned Black Muslim leader ~ has singularly maintained a roaring silence over the actions of two Jewish vice-presidential hopefuls each of whom have either shared a platform or sought unconditional dialogue with that self-same Black Muslim leader and a man whom Jews have long (falsely) accused of having disparaged their faith as a “gutter religion”?And how can one have anything but the utmost disdain for a political culture in which a Christian presidential candidate with a “Muslim-sounding” name (like Barack Hussein Obama) can find himself being held accountable for the unsolicited expression of support offered by a Black Muslim minister ~ along with his having to answer for controversial remarks uttered by a Christian pastor over whom said candidate has no control ~ while two leading Jewish supporters of his Republican and Democrat rivals are both given a “free pass” notwithstanding their own intimate associations with extremist Christian-Zionist clergy as well as their having openly courted or directly engaged the very same Black Muslim minister whom Obama was forced to “reject and denounce”?Is the two-faced, fork-tongued and hydra-headed white American media now going to demand that both Hillary Clinton-supporter, Ed Rendell, and John McCain-backer, Joe Lieberman, immediately and unequivocally disavow their past associations with or outreach towards Minister Louis Farrakhan? Or does the “Farrakhan/Wright Litmus Test” only apply to Black politicians like Barack Obama?READ MORE: http://www.afristok-7.blogspot.com/.....
