Florida Homegrown: Florida Homegrown is a series of two minute interstitials that provide viewers with tips on making Florida gardening an enjoyable experience. Mike McLaughlin, Director of Horticulture at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota as well as Marina D'Abreau, a Hillsborough County Extension Agent, host each segment. The focus is on plants and practices native to Florida and out weather conditions. They were produced by award winning videographer, Leslie Gaines. The production of the series was funded by Mr. Blake Whisenant of Earth Box Inc. along with the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. Expedition Florida: Winner of four Emmy Awards and the Edward R. Murrow Award for radio feature writing, the Florida Museum of Natural History’s Expedition Florida project introduces audiences of all ages to the natural wonders of Florida’s past and present with the hope of conserving and preserving them for future generations. Expedition Florida, inspired in 1996 by producers Leslie M. Gaines and Stephen Robitaille, Ph.D., is now produced by Gaines and his partner in Dragonfly Productions, Mailande Becker Holland.
