Students at Van Horne Elementary in Tucson Unified School District, Tucson, AZ, use an inquiry-based curriculum and international children's and adolescent books to explore human rights and how to take action. The project is part of a larger effort partnering Van Horne with Worlds of Words at the University of Arizona and is published in Volume 1, Issue 2 of WOW Stories: Connections from the Classroom along with other vignettes from Van Horne that focus on using quality international texts with children.
