Watch as the 240 vertices and 6,672 edges of the 8-dimensional E8 Polytope rotate between the primary symmetry axes.
Watch as the E8 is rotated from the Concentric Circle axis to the Quadrahedral axis, back to the Concentric Circle axis, and then 90 degrees to the Hexahedral axis.
This is a slice of the eight-dimensional E8 Polytope, in two dimensions brought to life. You can experience it yourself here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/New%20Caerleon/164/228/29
Wizard Gynoid and Thoth Jantzen have been sequestered away on Reaction Grid working on a secret project. It has to do with high-level, multi-dimensional mathematics, quantum physics and dance music.Stay tuned.Copyright © 2010 Wizard Gynoid & Thoth Jantzen
An artistic collaboration in Second Life and Reaction Grid, Wizard Gynoid's geometric creations are animated here with the help of Thoth Jantzen.Wizard Gynoid provides the geometric forms (various symmetry axes of the E8 Polytope) and Thoth Jantzen provides the underlying animated colors and patterns.
Yes, it came from the 4th Dimension! The 600 Cell Polytope. No, it's not an alien creature. It's a complex 4-dimensional geometric object, equivalent to our own 3D icosahedron. When it pushes through from the 4th Dimension, this is one of the shadows that it can cast in our own 3D space. This one was captured and filmed by Wizard Gynoid in Second Life, and was scripted by Desdemona Enfield. Soundtrack by Jana Kyomoon. And yes, there was some additional scripting done by Glyph Graves.
Watch as JJ Drinkwater, the Librarian of Caledon Sim, describes his recent viewing of Wizard Gynoid's E8 Polytope build on the Tibet sim.Excerpted from SLCN's "2nd Question" show, aired on September 23 2008. Now on permanent exhibit at Primtings Museum in Second Life! My 3D version of the famous Escher etching of two very hungry chameleons whirling through infinite black space.
