With Open Eyes is about the International Brigades who supported the Republican Government during the Spanish Civil War ,1936-1939. The title is from a poem by the English poet C.       Sam Lesser fought with the International Bridgades for the Republic during the Spanish Civil War in the 1930's. He was wounded at Lopera and then worked as a journalist in Barcelona till the end of the war. Sam's speech was recorded at the Marx Memorial Library in London at the opening of an exhibition about the International Brigades called 'Antifascistas' on 20th September 2010 Sam died a few weeks after this recording was made at the age of ninety five.
