A talk given by Sraddhalu Ranade at Savitri Bhavan, Auroville on 22nd February 2009. Human evolution has reached the highest that the intellect could lead us to, and it flounders now unable to proceed by mind alone. A new and higher consciousness which is supra-mental must now lead us towards our still higher potential. Sri Aurobindo and the Mother were pioneers of the Supramental evolution, and they worked to realise it in themselves in order to assist humanity to break through the present evolutionary crisis and rise to our Supramental destiny. In this talk we consider what the Supramental consciousness is and how it relates to our present mentality; we survey the pioneering work that Sri Aurobindo and the Mother accomplished; and finally we look at the practical means by which we can participate in the supramental evolution. The Mother: Lord, Thou hast willed, and I execute, A new light breaks upon the earth, A new world is born, The things that were promised are fulfilled. The manifestation of the Supramental upon earth is no more a promise but a living fact, a reality. It is at work here, and one day will come when the most blind, the most unconscious, even the most unwilling shall be obliged to recognise it.
