Featherweight Salvador Sanchez II stopped Trinidad Mendoza in the third round of a scheduled six round bout. Sanchez (14-3-2, 8 KO’s) dropped Mendoza (28-25-2, 20 KO’s) with a left hook to the body in the second and repeated it again in the third. Referee Jack Reiss counted Mendoza out at 1:23. Sanchez claims to be the nephew of the late, great Mexican Hall of Famer Salvador Sanchez.

WBC light flyweight Champion Edgar Sosa (36-5, 20 KOs) stopped challenger Carlos “Shangai” Melo (19-9, 2 KOs) of Panama at 2:47 of the 5th round at the packed Arena Mexico in Mexico City. Carlos Roberto Cuadras Quiroa is a Mexican amateur boxer best known to win the bantamweight title at the PanAmerican Games in Rio 2007.He won the PanAm Games by beating local James Pereira and winning the final against Dominican southpaw Claudio Marrero 15-11.
