Waynakh Online is an independent Chechen website which was founded in 2000 by a group of old Chechen diaspora members in Turkey. It has been started to run at a free domain name as Waynakh.cjb.net, but since 2005 it is running from Waynakh.com. The website is is organized into various sections: News, Articles, Interviews, Chechen culture, Chechen language, Chechen musics and Chechen history. Waynakh Online is the only English and Turkish source in internet related with Chechen people. The website is the most popular source on Chechen issue especially among the Western academicians and freelancer researchers. It receives more than thousands visitors each day from all around the world. The website’s motto is “Independent Chechen Republic of Ichkeria”. However it must be note that Waynakh Online does not represent the viewpoint of any state structures or the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria government. The main aim of Waynakh Online is documenting Russian occupation in the territory of Chechen Republic of Ichkeria; and break strong Russian disinformation about the crimes against humanity, war crimes and genocide against civilian population in Chechnya which are committing by Russian military forces. The website also tries to introduce the rich culture and painful history of Chechen nation. The editorial board of Waynakh Online belives to necessity of a strong diaspora, thus along the news from Russian occupied Chechen territory, carefully monitoring the activities in the diasporas and situation of Chechen refugees in all around the world.
