About this episode

This poem was written in honor of Brad Will, a dear friend, who was shot by a government assasin in Oaxaca, Mexico as he was filming. Brad was killed on October 27, 2006. He was in Oaxaca to document the uprising of the poor and dispossessed, those with no money or land. But these people had hope and fire in their bellies, (if not food) which allowed them to stand up to brutal government repression and not give up despite repeated acts of State terrorism, including but not limited to the murder of Brad Will. He was there to document and bring back that passion and fire to the U.S, where we are often so cold, so despondent, so passive and accepting of a slowly creeping fascism. Brad paid way to high a price to bring us the truth, and ignite our conscience, but his example of compassion, committment and courage, will NEVER be forgotten!_____________________(Poem may be copied to your desktop as a JPEG File.
