For You Telecare Family Service undertook a basketball tournament on April 7th 2012, as one part of our four part Tobacco Free campaign. The tournament working in partnership with Toronto Public Health was held at Ryerson University, there were roughly 100 people in attendance. A fund-raising was done via the 2011 Healthy Walkathon and a family picnic on May 28, 2011 at 10:00AM in Serena Park #1, Sunnybrook. The turn out was about 200 people mostly made up of families.
This basketball tournament is funded by Drug Prevention Community Investment Program of City of Toronto. We, For You Telecare Family Service, had been working with the cooperation of Light Presbyterian Church for the Youth Basketball Tournament that was held on February 26th. 15 teams at 10 am, where 4 people played as a team, participated in this basketball tournament. Overall, 70 basketball players and 80 people including volunteers and staffs came to the Youth Basketball Tournament.
