Caracas Morphosis is a videoart project undergoing continuous Development in which we want to call attention on how the pickaxes of progress are destroying, bit by bit, the historical, social and cultural heritage of the city of Caracas. We have used a morphing technique to dramatize changes undergone by urban environments that are so slow we are not aware of them. We have also accentuated the images with a soundtrack that evokes the sounds that accompany us in our daily life and to which we pay no attention because they are simply "there". Co-produced and co-directed by Fernando Paris and Marilyn Birchfield, this video has been awarded with the Jury's Grand Prize at the 2008Culturas Festival in Madrid, Spain, July 2008, (http://www.2008culturas.com) and is one of the winners at the fourth edition of the Magmart / Under Volcano / International Videoart Festival, in Naples, Italy, March 2009.
