The following is a chat I videoed with Eric Carter the last surviving member of No.81 Squadron, RAF, who fought with the Russians in Murmansk, flying Hurricane's in the freezing cold month's of 1941.Eric talks of his time in the RAF including escort missions, combat and life in the withering conditions of Burma after being transferred to fight the Japanese there.My only regret is that my tie-clip microphone broke on the day, and I had to use an emergency backup, which is not aesthetically pleasing, so my apologies.I have included images sourced from the internet along with Eric's own personal photos to add interest to the footage. I hope you enjoy it, and many thanks to Eric for agreeing to have a chat on camera, which I hope historians of aviation, as well as others, will find informative.
