About this episode

TV-UN

There has been a recent trend plaguing concert goers lately. Many ticket broker websites have been targeting high profile concerts and other events, purchasing large amounts of tickets right when they go on sale, and selling the tickets for exorbitant premiums on their sites. This leaves the average concertgoer like me scrambling to purchase tickets as quickly as possible, oftentimes being forced to use services like Ticketmaster that have their own inflated convenience charges. In some cases, an event will sell out in a matter of minutes and potential attendees will have no choice but to patronize the broker websites or sit the concert out. In my film, my girlfriend and I relate one particular instance in which we decided to use the sites’ services and talked to someone engaging in his own form of online ticket scalping, in hopes that people will boycott such sites to reduce the business potential of ticket broker sites.
