Veteran Richie served 24 years with the U.S.Navy on 4 ships & submarines. Bootcamp, 1959 in San Diego CA....he always wanted to be assigned to the subs but had to 'perservere'..finally after his 5th West Pacific run and return from VietNam he got his opportunity. By this time Don had amassed multiple skills in Advanced Electronics/ Crypto Repair and got the 'Sparky' nametag as a radioman. Of course he couldn't have done it without the tremendous support of his wife who worked hard and took care of things stateside while he was away.
