Veteran Johnson was with the 28th Marines of the 5th Division. He was with the Marines that put the flag on Iwo Jima, where he lost many close friends. He is one of 6 Marines plus a Navy doctor who survived in his group. He wishes people could see the military memorial at the gate of Arlington which puts on a patriotic show.
