About this episode

Veteran Sherberth served in the Naval Nurse Corp, rising to the rank of Lt. Commander. Her first duty station was Parris Island Marine Corp Base, she was sent there to take care of the Marines. After this Alma was deployed to New Foundland where they had winter in august!! A highlight was the U.S.S. Campbell...Admiral Birds exploration ship...which had rammed a submarine and had to be repaired in New Foundland. In Corvallis , Oregon Sherberth and 7 nurses setup a abandoned Army hospital and converted it to Navy. They got a shipload of Pacific casualties and 'they were ready'. They al worked together.
