Vessel Traffic at the lower end of Galveston Bay next to Bolivar Pass at the junction of the Texas City Ship Channel, Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, and lower entrance route to the Houston Ship ChannelA rare glimpse of Pelican Cut, Bolivar Peninsular, and the Bolivar Ferry transiting across the shipping channels. This area is the busiest shipping intersection in the United States where several inbound and outbound shipping lanes converge from all point of the compass. All vessel traffic must check in with the Vessel Traffic System (VTS) of the United States Coast Guard.
