Art Stage Singapore is an international art fair held annually in Singapore. The second edition of Art Stage Singapore takes place at the Marina Bay Sands Convention and Exhibition Centre on 12 to 15 January 2012. Over 100 galleries take part in the art fair this year. The 2007 exhibition “Jasper Johns: An Allegory of Painting, 1955 – 1965″ at Kunstmuseum Basel presented the groundbreaking early work of Japser Johns, beginning in the mid-1950s with such famous works as “Target with Four Faces”. The show brought together around seventy key works on loan from museums and private collections in the US and Europe. It traced the relationship of four specific motifs: the target, the mechanical “device”, the naming colors, and the imprint of the body. For the inaugural show in 303 Gallery’s 21st street space in New York City, multimedia artist Doug Aitken presented Migration, the first in a 3-part cycle of installations titled Empire. Like every year, Jennifer Rubell conceived a breakfast installation for Art Basel Miami Beach week. It's Jennifer Rubell's 11th installation at the Rubell Family Collection. For the Art Public section of Art Basel Miami Beach, Los Angeles-based artist Glenn Kaino conceived a performance that was meant to take place throughout the duration of the fair. It was planned that hundreds of volunteers helped to lift a 20 x 20 feet sculptural platform invoking the iconic attractions of the 1939 New York World's Fair. Although this test of the physical investment and personal commitment to the realization of creative moments wasn't very successful due the lack of a sufficient number of volunteers, it was certainly worth a try. Dieter Roth (1930–1998) was one of the great universal artists of the 20th century. He was a graphic artist and designed furniture, he painted and drew, he created sculptures and expansive installations, working with all sorts of materials. He was a poet, a musician and a publisher and he filmed, photographed and collected. Artist Sarah Sze is known for her intricate installations. For the High Line, Sze created an elaborate metropolis of perspectival architectural models that are bisected by the High Line path itself. The architecture acts as a bird, butterfly and insect observatory, with perches, feeding spots and birdbaths throughout. The exhibition Warhol: Bardot at Gagosian Gallery Davies Street in London brings together two icons: Andy Warhol and Brigitte Bardot. Interview with artist Tomas Saraceno on the occasion of his huge solo exhibition at Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum fur Gegenwart in Berlin. Tomás Saraceno’s work received broader attention in 2009 when he filled the main hall of the Padiglione Centrale in the Giardini at the 53rd Venice Art Biennale. His current exhibition Cloud Cities at Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin is Tomás Saraceno’s largest solo presentation to date. It features approximately 20 of his balloon models in various sizes.
