The exhibition “Open, Sesame!” (”Sesam, Öffne Dich!”) at Museum Ludwig in Cologne, Germany, is a major retrospective at the work of German sculptor Isa Genzken. The show has been developed in cooperation with the Whitechapel Gallery in London. It’s the most comprehensive solo show to date. On display is a selection of over 60 works, spanning Isa Genzken’s artistic career from the aerodynamic wooden sculptures that she made in the 1970s, to her recent installations made of consumer goods and everyday objects.
