An evening spent catching up with MTAA, T. Whid and M. River took the opportunity to consider recent past projects and updated the group regarding their current work and process. T. Whid and M. River reviewed the Website Unseen and Updates series, discussed the installation work at PS1 and SmackMellon, perused new works in progress at Tinjail.com, and provided highlights of the new features at MT Enterprises WorldWide. MTAA used the meeting to contextualize a body of work via a presentation based on reflection. In this vein, MTAA spent the majority of the presentation premiering a documentary regarding the behind-the-scenes work of their project, Endnode (AKA Printer Tree). The footage depicted the partners? process of networking and building the Printer Tree during their residency at Eyebeam, via a straight but comical eye. In true MTAA style, the evening became a happening or live social experiment designed to acquire subscriptions to the Endnode mailing list through peer pressure, pandering, and (much appreciated!!!) cheap beer. The evening concluded with a visit to the nearly installed Printer Tree in the Eyebeam exhibition space. Out under The Tree, the group could gage the real life experience of the tree as its leaves (printed out emails from the Endnode site list) dropped to the ground during the Beta Launch: Eyebeam Artists-in-Residence ?02 exhibition.
