From Zagreb we get off at Nova Pazova Train Station in Batanija. I can't wait to see what Ljuban and Yagoda did to there house since last year. I must say, the organization responsible for donating some of the materials that helped Ljuban & Jagoda finish the house were provided by Humanitarian Organization Divac. H.O.D.was created Vlade Divac who played for The Los Angeles Lakers, The Sacramento Kings and The Charlotte Hornets. He is also the president of the Serbian Olympic Committee. The purpose of the organization which started in 1991 is to provide materials to people who lost their homes because of the war in ex-Yugoslavia, Kosovo and Metohija. http://www.fondacijadivac.org Still wondering what's up with the name of this candy. Before heading into Belgrade I wanted to stop off at Ljuban's local hair dresser to get an old fashioned shave. So neck wasn't slit and my face is as smooth as a babies ass. That's right. It's time to explore beautiful Beograd once again. Yagoda was determined to show us around Zemun and in particular the Millenary Monument. MILLENARY MONUMENT The Millennium tower was built in 1896, within the oldest preserved fortification from the 14th century, at the hill of Gardos, right over the right bank of the Danube. This is the place where the remnants of the settlements can be traced from the neolite to today, for 7000 years. The tower, 36 metres high, constructed of stone and brick was built on the prominent spot of the hill, which affected it's historical functions, from the gardian of the town like a watchtower to a viewing tower. Today this elegant building houses the studio and gallery Cubrilo.
Back in 2009 hip-hop artist Christopher Rudder (Dirt!, Alleyne & Temus) travelled to Europe for the first time. Documenting and editing the experience ignited a flame once he returned back home. When he returned in 2010 he launched Journey Of An Artist, a mini-documentary divided in 10 parts brought much more depth, research and music produced specifically for for each episode. For 2011, with his partner photographer Gordana Grubor he takes Journey Of An Artist to another level bringing beautiful videography, creative editing & photography (The Rudder Company), extensive research, great music and interactions with the locals. As a host Christopher is witty, charming and ready to have fun.
