Twitter Road Trip

About this original series

I am doing a nation-wide road trip in 2009 to interview people and companies who are on Twitter and have interesting stories to tell. I am doing video of the interviews and will be posting them here. Of course, interesting things that happen along the way will be documented on Twitter (as well as a heaping handful of other sites). The idea for this project started as an excuse to take a road trip. I thought it would be cool to meet all of the people that I followed on Twitter; put a face to the tweet as it were. Not long after coming up with the idea I decided that this could be an opportunity to really dive into the whole social media thing. I am a web developer by trade, but have always been interested in social media. I had been looking for a way to transition into social media consulting. This seems like a good way to start. Then in March of this year I was laid off. With no job or other things tying me down I decided to make the leap. I would spend as much time as I needed to make this project a success. Instead of being rushed to fit in as many places in a short amount of time I would be able to take the time to really experience each city I visited. The project is entirely self-funded but I have set up a donation page to get help with expenses. If you believe in what I am doing, I encourage you to help out. Your donation will be tweeted if you supply your Twitter username. And if you are a company that wants to become a sponsor, I'm open to that too.Make sure to follow me on Twitter to get updates from the road @route140.

I had heard of great things that NAKED Pizza was doing with social media and Twitter in particular. Daily Grommet sells interesting and unique products, with a new one featured each day.
