We collected 2 GIANT rubbermaid tubs of apples that morning. They could not wait. We ended up with nearly 10 gallons of cider. By the time we are done this season we should have about 50 gallons of fermented apple goodness. "Trackers Immersion: Make your own Alcohol"
This was our first few weeks of the 2008-2009 immersion program. We were fresh from Nature of the Village. It seemed like we were doing something every second, and it seemed like we did not want to be back in the city. And we are getting the work done that we came to do. Everyone rocks. The team is solid. A few scenes: shooting their hand made vine maple bows at Washington Park, kayaking the Willamette and tracking, personal business plans are started with Mike Rasmussen, and Mike Owen does ame...
At the Nature of the Village, Jen Carman makes and shoots her first bow. She made a bow with a 50 lb draw with vine maple. We were proud to be using a locally harvested wood. One we gathered ourselves. This will not be the first bow Trackers Immersion students make. We don't just want them doing a skill once. Only under the guidance of a teacher, we want everyone we work with to own the skill. They will make another this year, and then another, and then another.
Gone are the days of trackers instructors living out of their trucks, all grimy and dirty. Gone are the days of hippies with no style, skunking up the primitive skills world, wallowing in their "its all good" and "patchouli". We are all better than this. We've got to out-class civilization. TrackersNW gives a makeover to our favorite skills instructor Brian Schuch. We pull him out from under our pool table and transform him into real wilderness eye candy.

We believe our culture needs to make 'common s...
