A boy plays his bagpipes outside a castle. Nearby, some kittens play tic tac toe and fall in the water after a falling out over the game. The boy throws his bagpipes in the water for the kittens to use as a flotation device. In return, the kittens' friend, Puss in Boots thanks him and promises to help him defeat an ogre so that he can marry the princess.
