Babukishandas Baul, the son and grandson of important figures in the lineage of the mystic Bengal Baul tradition, performs Kirtan and Bhajan, Baul and Sufi songs .. The Bauls are mystical street singers, ecstatic entertainers who wander the Bengali conclave of Shantineketin, sleeping under trees and singing for their supper. The Bauls have their own philosophy, a mix of Hindu, Islam, Buddhist and Tantra. Like the Sufis, they represent a "unity" faith that tries to heal the divide that religion has created between neighbors.
