Two years after a bill that would legalize same-sex marriage failed in the New Jersey state Senate, the measure has been reborn, passing the Senate Monday by a vote of 24-16. Democratic leaders, including Senate President Stephen Sweeney, who previously abstained on the bill, called on legislators to back what they framed as a civil rights issue, but opponents of the bill said it would threaten traditional marriage. The state Assembly is expected to pass a similar bill on Thursday. Gov. Chris Christie has said he will veto the bill. (Video by Nyier Abdou/The Star-Ledger)
