___ Tom: And when did we start listening to crackpots anyhow? Stanley: When I started dying, Tom. That's when. ___ No matter how you swing it, you gotta watch this motion picture from the brainchild of Mike Furlong. Furlong wrote, starred in, and directed The Partisan . Exhaustively shot on locations throughout Ashland, OR including the now defunct Pizza Hut, this production was collaborated with Furlongs associates from I Kappa Foo , a short run college indy show.
Welcome to the story of Stanley Dent. Stanley's ex-girlfriend Karen has just returned home from a Paris honeymoon with her new husband, Dr. Chuck Handley. Stanley has just stolen Karen's expensive Partisan cat with the help of his good friend Tom Maddox.
While relaxing and basking in their glory, Tom and Stanley both get upsetting health news at the same time.
Tom pays a visit to the clinic to check up on his ex-girlfriend's claim that she gave him herpes. At the clinic, he has a chance encounter with Doctor Chuck Hanley and rushes out before getting his results.
Stanley catches up with Tom, who is out for a run after leaving the Doctor's office.
Stanley's filming is in full swing, but the students wonder if he's taking it a little too far. Tom starts to wonder if Stanley may be losing control, but is sidetracked by his own dilemmas when it appears that the Doctor is smearing Tom's name all over town.
Now Stanley's really starting to lose it, or is he?
Stanley attempts to put the moves on a girl from class.
Now that Tom has the Partisan, he calls Dr. Hanley to set up a meeting. When Stanley realizes the Partisan is gone, he consults his Oracle and has another visit from Jesus.
With only one student still willing to work on the musical, Stanley goes forth to finish the remaining scenes. Tom tries to go on a relaxing break from the madness in a local park, but an overly-righteous chick harasses him and attempts to take the Partisan for it's own safety. Stanley catches her with the Partisan and wrestles her for it before Tom rescues it and flees.
