John Moyle, AKA OverlandSailor is developing a community journalism site for Overland, Missouri. Currently the site focuses on City Hall and the local government but that is expected to change with the next version. The Overland Examiner is a Citizen Journalism effort in Overland, Missouri.
The Overland City Council met for a workshop meeting in the Council Chambers on October 29th, 2007. Subjects discussed at this meeting included the new sign at the Community Center, various ways to address Trash Service funding, Demolition of the pool and associated buildings at Legion Park, Parking and Municipal boundary issues on Lackland, Issues with the Bridge at Wild Acres Park and Issues with Police Radios.
The Overland City Council met for a regularly scheduled meeting on October 22nd, 2007 at the Overland Community Center. Among other issues, Consolidation of 9616-9622 Midland, The Job Description for a new Computer Technician, and changing the mandatory retirement age for the Police Pension were discussed. On May 22nd, 2007 The Overland City Council held a workshop on the proposed 2007/2008 Budget. The meeting took just under 4 hours. This is a portion of that meeting where the subject of "city paid" cell phones was discussed.
