I'm fake I'm hip and I know it. Hotter than a glued on Fendi badge. Hotter than a fake Louis V bag. I travel the fashion capitals of the world to take hip photographs of peolple and then photoshop them out of recognition just because I can, I am the fake sartorialist after all and everything I do becomes fashion history the second I click 'Post to Blog'
I have been taking a lot of time creating highly detailed images of late. I really miss those early days of the Fake Sartorialist and the speed creation, on the fly, decisions that I made in images. So in an attempt to stimulate the same kind of response I've created a small challenge for myself.I give over my library of images that Sonny Vandevelde took during the A/W 2011 shows to a friend. They can then select any four images from the 33646 available. I am then tasked with spending an hour ...

Velkom to zee vorld of zee iPerv All this talk about the iPad being a porn/smut free platform is rather deceiving. Sure the apps are controlled, but the greatest thing about the iPad is its full access to the internet. People have a right to access whatever they like on their devices, and Apple themselves have made sure that it can happen. So Apple doesn't allow porn to be sold on the app store!? WarnerBrothers, Disney etc… don't sell porn, should we make them? It's their platform and their ch...
Making of: http://www.fakesartorialist.com/2010/04/gleep-into-unknown.html What happens when the cast of Glee is left to float in space: Like a veritable Dorothy, Rachel floats in a black whirlwind of space. Here unfortunately no one can hear her vocal prowess, nor the clicking of her Converse sneakers. Finn trying to catch Rachel before she gets sucked into a trans-dimensional vortex, is as usual to late. While Kurt mimes the ring he has just received from an imaginary Tom Ford. Suffering fro...
I was invited by Brazilian fashion magazine Catarina to 'Fake Sartorialist' one of their magazines images for them. It didn't end up getting used for the cover, but it will be in the magazine none the less! Starting off with original images from Catarina magazine, I added a touch of the surreal. You might at first think that the image hasn't been edited much, but the closer you look the stranger it gets. Luminescent colours, subtle tone changes, bold patterns, samurai like panels, giant tassel...
This video was used at the beginning of the S/S 2010 Guillotine fashion show to get mood of the show across to the viewers. It tries to capture within it a dual sense of beauty and unease. Of the cusp of womanhood. Inspired by the Virgin Suicides film, I took parts of it and broke them down to create taht sense of unease, the image is never really what it seems. Making of for this post: http://the-fake-sartorialist.blogspot.com/2010/03/global-cooling-chanel-fall-2010.html This year for Chanel’s Fall 2010 show, Karl Largerfeld thought it would be a good idea to ship an entire iceberg from Sweden to the heart of Paris. Ignoring one of the major issues of our time, global warming, he decided to make a poignant statement. Karl Largerfeld is single handedly trying to bring back the ice-age through his stellar use, or in this case dis-use of fashion. Softwa...
The creation of a Fake Sartorialist image and what it entails. Search Fake Sartorialist to see similar. I just couldn't resist using this song for the video. It's from Die Antwoord's latest album $o$. Die Antwoord has recently taken South Africa and the world by storm. Their authentically South African sound verges on pop and parody, so of course I find it fascinating. For those more gental viewers out there (or listeners actually) there is STRONG LANGUAGE in the music accompanying this video ...
