ACA Lecture Series -- Wrath James White: "Escaping The Overseer: Atheism in Black America" 2012-03-04 Wrath James White is a prolific novelist and blogger , a former professional mixed martial artist and trainer, and a husband, and father. His novels are horror stories with an atheist slant. He blogs for Atheist Nexus and maintains his own blogs, Words of Wrath and Godless and Black. A December 2011 article posted on “the best schools.org “included White in its “50 Top Atheists in the World Today” for his seriousness, celebrity, and public identification with atheism. White once wrote, “I am saddened and somewhat disgusted by the very idea of a Black Christian. It would seem to me that after having so recently escaped our slavemasters that we would have had enough of masters." The ACA Lecture Series (http://www.atheist-community.org/lectures/) is a monthly event in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. Lectures are generally free and open to the public. The ACA Lecture Series is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin (http://www.atheist-community.org/) is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
