Watch the Volkswagen CrossBlue Hybrid Concept debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show

The new Volkswagen CrossBlue Hybrid Concept is a seven passenger SUV that gets 89 MPGe. Of course the e stands for equivalent which means that the CrossBlue has both a diesel and an electric power plant. In other words the CrossBlue is can run on electricity alone or on both the battery and the diesel engine to deliver outstanding fuel economy. Will VW build the CrossBlue? Chances are very good as Volkswagen doesn't have a 7 seven passenger SUV in the American market and it wants to compete across all different sized platforms.
