A swap driver is the name given to the dealership part-timer who shags back and forth between dealers exchanging a new blue car for a red one to satisfy a customer and complete the sale. During the first few years of retirement I derived much enjoyment from this sort of work driving all sorts of cars throughout the Northeast. There were many variations of the theme, using trains, subway, bus, airplane, truck etc in all sorts of weather conditions: hurricane, flood, snowstorm, fire, etc. I got to see family and friends that I normally wouldn't have.
