School District Administration Compensation the subject of new “Teacher, speak out!” episode “Teacher, speak out!”, Community Television of Santa Cruz County’s newest series, examines administration compensation in the episode’s prime-time premier Monday, November 23 at 7:30 on cable channels 25 and 71. The show picks up where the Santa Cruz Sentinel left off after the recent publication of payments to County Office of Education and Pajaro Valley Unified School District administrators. Joining producer and host Peter Nichols are County Superintendent of Schools Michael Watkins, Greater Santa Cruz Federation of Teachers President and teacher Barry Kirschen, PVUSD Chief Negotiator Jack Carroll, Renaissance High teacher Jennifer Laskin and PVUSD Trustee Sandra Nichols. During the show, comparisons are made to salaries of Members of Congress and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The compensation of PVUSD’s newest assistant superintendent is dissected. “Teacher, speak out!” is a co-production of Peter Nichols and the Pajaro Valley Federation of Teachers and airs Monday evenings at 7:30 and Friday evenings at 5:30. Recent episodes have covered Budget Priorities, Negotiation Impasse, Parcel Taxes and District Consolidation. Upcoming episodes will look at Dropouts and Testing.
