Teacher as Hero: Born and raised on the BC coast, my parents introduced me to the mountains and the sea and the mysteries in between. Pursued a life in the wilderness as naturalist, ranger and backcountry guide. Has worked with youth since 1981 in the outdoors and in classrooms. Attempting to bring education out of the box letting the student experience the world in a hands on fashion. LOVING teaching at my school in Campbell River as my students are my daily inspiration for the past 14 years. Married 24 years to the amazing woman who opened my eyes to the world beyond the west coast and together have been the overjoyed parents facing the challenges of raising two beautiful children in this big / shrinking world we share with so many.
