Michael Phelps swam his last-ever swims at a Grand Prix meet over the weekend at the Charlotte UltraSwim. Phelps collected two second-place finishes over the weekend, in the 200 free and 200 fly. Ricky Berens held off Phelps in the 200 free, as Berens posted a fast 1:47.32 to Phelps’ 1:48.01. A day later, China’s Wu Peng touched out Phelps to win the 200 fly with a great last 50. National champion David Heron joins today's edition of The Morning Swim Show to talk about winning the 5K race at the USA Swimming open water nationals. Swimming a five-kilometer race was nothing for Heron, as he trains monster yardage as a member of the Mission Viejo Nadadores. Heron talks about a couple of recent sets he did and how it affects him mentally and physically. He also discusses his desire to compete in college.
