The genesis of theseprograms vary with the community, and ranges include AB 32, SB 375, federal stimulus funds, green jobsand the desire to be a sustainability leader. This panel will focus on two cutting edge efforts programs: 1)The City of Rancho Cucamonga Green Team, which focuses on cost-effectively developing andimplementing a sustainability program for city operations and facilities; and 2) the City of SanBernardino/SCAG/Green Valley Initiative Regional Energy Efficiency Pilot Program (REEP), which seeksto develop a model local program that creates green jobs through the installation of energy efficiency andrenewable energy measures in buildings from every sector of the local economy.
