Each episode of Strength Coach TV, we will take you inside different fitness facilities from some of America's top trainers and coaches. Learn how they designed their facility to incorporate their philosophies, program design, priorities and budget. We will be visiting facilities big and small, from personal training studios to large sports performance centers to university weight rooms. The goal of Strength Coach TV is to help fitness professionals who are interested in opening their own facility to get a look into the challenges that current owners face, while getting a peak into now they designed it based on their philosophies, program design, priorities and budget.
In Episode 15, I travel to New York City for a tour of Drive 495 with owner Don Saladino. Don and his brother Joe operate an incredible facility catering to golfers with a great "team approach". They have incredible customer service in a beautiful facility located in the heart of Soho, NY.
In Episode 14, I travel to Scarsdale, NY for a tour of Todd Giorgi's Revive Fitness Studio. Todd recently moved his studio to another location in the same town, so we find out why he did it and get a tour of the new studio. I also asked him about some staffing policies that he has changed.
For Episode 13, I travel to Berkeley Heights, NJ for a tour of Gabriele Fitness & Performance. Owner Vince Gabriele shows us around his 6,000 sq. ft facility where he works with athletes of all ages, as well as general population folks. Also, TJ Lopez of Major League Strength gives us an update on the progress of Dana Cavalea's new facility in White Plains, NY.
In Episode 12, I visit Scarsdale, NY for a tour of Empower Physical Therapy with Joe Bonyai. This is an interesting model, and a great way to start a facility, where Joe partnered with a successful physical therapy clinic that wanted to add a strength and conditioning component. We also get an update from TJ Lopez, of Major League Strength, on the build-out of Dana Cavalea's new facility.
For this episode, I travel upstairs in my building for the very first look at a facility during the demolition phase of the buildout. Dana Cavalea, Strength & Conditioning Coach for the NY Yankees, discusses his plans for a 3,000 square foot facility in White Plains, NY. For the next few episodes, we will be going back to check on Dana's progress.
Joe Dowdell gives host Anthony Renna a tour of Peak Performance in New York City. Located on the 8th floor in downtown Manhattan, Peak is a very successful facility that has been voted one of the Top Ten Gyms in America by Men's Health for 2 years in a row. Peak clients range from MMA athletes to top fencers to models and moms.
In this episode, I added a video I did for StrengthCoach.com when I first opened my studio almost 2 years ago. I went around the studio an added up different items that one one ever talks about when opening a facility: door mats, refrigerators, shelves, lockers, pictures, etc. As you will see in the video, those things add up!
