It's an HD camera and has different settings to control the onboard mic. In this case I was usig a forward focus setting, so Jimmy and I sound really clear when in front of the camera. No lav mic needed, but the xound from behind the camera is very soft. If you are in a quieter space, you could set hte camera to have the mic pointing to the back pick up sound too.
