Boston has spawned some amazing rock bands in recent years, and among the latest crop are The Battleships Cometh. Battleships manage to merge hard rock and funk in a unique way. They draw from classic rock influences like Led Zep and Hendrix, and they also lay down the funk, pointing to their groove influence with a great Sly Stone cover. Lead singer Leilani wails with passion over Jon Keane's guitar acrobatics, and the tight groove of drummer Jamie Watt and bassist Mike Razo. It all adds up to a powerful live rock experience. This one sounds good loud.. so make sure to crank your little computer speakers to 11.
