Oi has always been a favorite genre of mine. I like the way that OI has no pretensions. OI is a raw, working class music. Oi is the purist of the many types of punk rock. Colin Moran from Western Mass band The Damaged turned me on to a young Oi band from his area called Stomping Ground. These guys are still in their mid teens, and they play with fury and reckless abandon. Stomping ground singer Trevor reminds me of early Black Flag era Henry Rollins. He stalked around the TV studio barking out lyrics while the boys in the band played hard and fast. These guys put on a great show, and represented East Coast Oi proudly. it was great to capture them on my show. Less
