Mostly politically-oriented commentary and pseudo-documentaries from an engineering grad student in Atlanta, GA.
Scenes and reactions from the packed house at Manuel's Tavern on Thursday, August 28, where a crowd had gathered to watch Obama's acceptance speech on the anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech. MTV's Choose or Lose Street Team '08 was tasked with recording reaction interviews for use in a Friday night special, but in the end less than 2% of our work was used. Everyone thought the Obama campaign would send their text message out on Friday afternoon, but they played the tease out too long, and John King of CNN broke the story. Did Obama's media team seriously think no one would notice the Secret Service heading to Delaware so Joe Biden could get on a chartered jet sent from Chicago? Apparently they did, and they woke everyone up at 3 or 4 in the morning to tell us what we already knew. Text campaign: FAIL. Nice in theory though!

In the meantime, stay tuned to meet some of the contestants from around the world as they set up their displays on Monday afternoon.Music: cc-mixter.org: nervous_testpilot (CC:by)

Everything you need to know about adapters and microphones for improving the audio into your Nokia N95 or similar N-series device. Corrects a mistake in an earlier video by Bloggerguy and goes into more detail. Example of cutting ambient noise.
Shot & uploaded from my Nokia N95. Post-tornado (or near miss) damage in historic Vine City west of downtown...where MSM didn't send any press trucks.
New toy. I am now a Nokia starchild. Well, it'd help if Qik would give me a damn account.
The first symposium on Computation + Journalism was at Georgia Tech this past weekend. The list of panelists was enough to make your brain bleed, and everyone came away smarter...and then went drinking to forget some bits.
