About this series:
Meet our neighbors under the surface of Pacific Northwest waters! See surprising colors, contrasts, cold water creatures that look like they came from outerspace. These submarine neighbors are part of the same ecosystem we are -- we all share the same fate. Each half-hour episode contains several short videos about the underwater world from a wide variety of perspectives: art, science, poetry, etc.

This episode takes the viewers for an underwater tour from southern Alaska to the South Pacific. The tour begins with a faux submersible ride through the nutrient rich waters near Monterey, California. Then we have a look at the low dissolved oxygen problem that has many scientists concerned about the health of Hood Canal. Diving below the chilly waters of southern Alaska is a precursor to watching one of the many relationships between different underwater species in the warm waters of Papua New Guinea.
