The series of episodes for "screen lit logic" track my personal play with video composition, especially the intermixing of image, sound, and language. I've been very inspired by many of the episodes I've seen here and hope that over time my contributions will display a development of skill and understanding of this digital medium.
This video was made with iMovie HD. June 2011
This piece is my most "produced" piece so far, using iMovie. This piece very much challenged my knowledge of sound in balancing three tracks of sound (voice over, video sound, and music track). I even had to buy a microphone to improve sound quality of my voice over. I still have a lot to learn.
This is the first piece I've done using multiple pieces of music. My goal was to transition in mood through moving from one piece to the next. I don't feel I was very successful in achieving this. Also in terms of sound, this was the first time I played with extracting sound from video and placing it elsewhere in the piece--a simple but very useful trick for creating mood and developing non-narrated pieces.
This shorty is in honor of Oliver's nanny. In this piece I learned about timing photos to synchronize with music--very basic skill, I know, but new for me.
a celebration of Oliver's first words (OFF selection #2)
This video is a composition of video footage of my son, collected fall of 2007 and compliled into this short narrative.
