There is basically no one in America who has the experience in shurikenjutsu that Danny Fletcher has, this book is a must buy. As someone who owns basically every book on shurikenjutsu ever written I can say this is one of two English language books worth buying, the other being Shuriken-do by Shirakami Ikkuken. The author is an expert on Japanese martial arts and culture with experiences no other authors who have tried to cash in on the hype of the shuriken can come close to. Danny has not on...
True Path of the Ninja by Antony Cummins is a translation of the Shoninki by Natori Masazumi also known as Fujibayashi Masatake. I recommend this book for anyone interested in the history of ninja, despite some of its contents being outdated if you properly study the art they can be adapted to our time.
Generally a good book for non-Japanese speaking audiences. Lots of information that's common knowledge in Japan, but unknown in the western world. Definitely worth a purchase.
http://korisuya.wordpress.com i discuss the evolution of shuko as a farming tool and related weaponry which i happened to talk about in the lastest blog entry, because i can predict the future
i talked to a KOREAN expert on korean weapons, some are very interesting. none are what greg shows. i was shown examples from gyonju museum, the royal palace museum, busan museum, leeam museum. no sai, kama, dragon tail, demon tear, shuriken, nunchaku etc. no korean ninja, no insul, jaeguk, kanja, kancho etc
if you're interested in cheap tachi, or not so cheap tachi let me know.
http://korisuya.wordpress.com/in the latest blog i talk about konpi, the earliest of the chained weapons used in japan.
i'll be doing a blog on kusaribuki and tekken soon. greg thinks it's impossible to study history and know how to actually use martial arts. don't worry greg the koreans thought the same, it was the japanese who encouraged academic study along with martial study.
this was removed from youtube but now it's back and uncensored. see the history behind budo ryu ninjutsu
Antony sent me a copy of this book to review. It's very basic, good for people who don't know too much about ninjutsu, it basically destroys ninja mythology people may have gotten from movies or youtube videos
