On April 16, 2009, Romance writer Diane Pershing spoke with patrons at the Santa Clara City Library about the art of writing a romance, how the industry works, and how the genre is perceived.
On April 15, 2009, Mission City Opera performed at the Santa Clara City Library. Our patrons enjoyed selections from Marriage of Figaro, Amahl and the Night Visitors, La Boheme, and others.
Professor Francisco Jimenez, author of the books The Circuit, Breaking Through, and most recently Reaching Out, spoke to an audience at the Santa Clara City Library on April 14, 2009. Reading selections from his books and telling personal anecdotes, Mr. Jimenez gave the people in attendance a glimpse into the immigrant experience that helped shape his life.
On April 17, 2009, musician Dylan Donkin put on a Toddler Dance Party for our little patrons.
