Freedom of Speech OR Poisoned-Wells, Not Both

About this episode

TV-UN

'Poisoning the well' is a term used to describe when a person or idea is doubted before even understood. 'Poisoning the well' creates an atmosphere of prejudice where premature distrust poisons opposing views. We can certainly agree that there is no 'freedom of speech' if the mandates of controlled-media drown the voices of opposing ideas. Equally, there is no 'freedom of speech' if the thunder of controlled-media 'poisons the wells', making critical-thought on the matter all but impossible. In our culture, there are limits to your 'freedom to speak': you may speak free IF you speak impotently (no one listens or, at least, no one cares). However, disobedient ideas that are NOT impotent will be filtered by the controlled-media and mis-contextualized. This will 'poison your well'. Then, you will be a scapegoated pariah. www.RussLindquist.info
