To use, you'll first need to fill up the tank with water. The temperature doesn't matter. Once filled, turn the light on, which will rotate through a rainbow of colors. Before placing the mermaid in the water, place one of the included weighted rings around the mermaid's tail, otherwise she'll just float along the top of the water. There are three different weighed rings to choose from: Purple (light), pink (medium weight), and silver (heavy). The weights also change how and where she swims. If you find the mermaid sinks too much, for example, switch to a lighter ring. Place the mermaid in the water and it will immediately be activated and start swimming. If you want to remove the toy, use the included magic wand, which acts like a hook to pull the mermaid out of the water.
