<blip:puredescription>Hi, I’m Emily Richards and today I’m going to show you how to roast the perfect whole turkey – it’s pretty easy. First, remove the turkey from its packaging and check both cavities and remove the packages of giblets found there. These can be cooked on the stovetop if desired or with the turkey. Place your turkey breast-side up on a flat rack in a shallow roasting pan. Once in the pan, either tie the legs together or tuck them under the ring of skin left in place for that purpose. You’ll want the legs tucked in closely to the side of the turkey. Then, season the turkey according to your preference. I would suggest a bit of salt and pepper and brush the turkey with oil for a golden brown finish. Add any other spices that you would like. Once seasoned, place the roasting pan in an oven pre-heated to 325oF or 160oC. (Preheat oven to 325oF (160oC). Two-thirds of the way through the estimated cooking time, you may want to tent the breast area with aluminum foil, to keep it moist.
