February 20, 2006 I produced this show with two other classmates at UC Berkeley's Journalism School and it won a national 2006 Student Emmy in the news magazine category. We were responsible for the topic and structure of the show -- a newsmagazine about religion and faith in the news and in individuals' lives. We suggested some stories to cover, greenlighted the pitches that our classmates brought to us, and coordinated final production of the show.We also designed the "look" of the show. We took advantage of the Bay Area's remarkable religious diversity. Instead of the usual host introducing the next segment, we used man-on-the-street interviews to transition between the pieces. Each interstitial concludes with a sound-bite from one of the characters in the next piece. I shot many of the interviews, selected bites, and edited the montages with a colleague.
